Malia Furtado comes from a large family of musicians at the Northern end of the Shenandoah Valley. His main band these days is Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen and with them he has been touring all over the world as well as teaching at workshops and camps throughout the country. Matt has been playing music his entire life.
He has played many instruments over the years and then found his true love and virtuosity on the upright and electric basses. He has performed and recorded professionally in many genres and is constantly in demand performing in bands all over the New York City area in Jazz and Bluegrass ensembles.
